Darent Valley, Dartford

Carillion is supporting key workers on the frontline of healthcare provision by delivering a full range of facilities management services at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford.

We were also responsible for the fast-track design and construction programme, which saw Darent Valley – the first PFI procured hospital – built in just 36 months.

As part of this pioneering and award-winning development, we set new standards by embracing the Government’s New Deal programme, which enabled local unemployed people to learn new jobs on site.

Carillion has worked with the Trust to extend the hospital and make internal modifications to keep pace with clinical care. This included one of the first variations to raise additional debt through variation bonds on an operational health PFI concession.
